Rev. Michael Harrell is a clergy member of the California-Nevada Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. Over his 27 years of ministry he has served local congregations in the Central Valley, in Santa Cruz, and the Sacramento region. For the past three years he served as Assistant to the Bishop of the California-Nevada Annual Conference. He has served in a variety of leadership capacities within the Annual Conference over the years, including the Board of Ordained Ministry, the Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry, Commission on the Annual Conference Session, and as a guide/mentor to numerous candidates for ministry as they navigated the denomination’s ordination process.
Mike is a native Californian, whose family has roots in the UMC and the California-Nevada Conference going back several generations. Mike and his spouse , Kara, who works in public education, have two teenage children. Two pet rats and a Crested gecko currently round out their family.
