Peter was born and raised in Hawaii and started his career in the Los Angeles office of Arthur Andersen in 1988. He spent seven years in Los Angeles and transferred to Hawaii in 1994, where he has since been providing accounting and advisory services to a variety of public, private and governmental entities. Peter is a Founding Partner of KMH LLP and heads up the Risk Management practice area within the Audit & Advisory Practice. Peter was named the 2005 Pacific Business News (PBN) “Young Business Leader of the Year” for his outstanding business leadership and commitment to the community.
Peter has extensive experience in providing accounting, advisory and consulting services to various clients. He has served many local companies including, not-for-profit entities, real estate companies, educational institutions, governmental entities and healthcare providers. Peter is the former Chairman and current Treasurer of the Hawaii Council on Economic Education; former Trustee for the Queens Health Systems and Chairman of the Audit Committee (serving nine years after reaching term limitations); past President & current Board member and Treasurer of Kalihi-Palama Health Center; and past President of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Hawaii chapter, and is a member of several other civic organizations.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting from the University of California at Berkeley (1988), graduating with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa. Peter is married with three adult children.
