He has a strong background as an entrepreneur and innovator, and a transformative organizational consultant and has helped numerous organizations launch, raise money, pivot, build strong value propositions, and find their own path to success.
He holds a Master’s degree in Economics, and a Law Degree. In addition to teaching Social Entrepreneurship and Circular economy at UC Berkeley, he regularly teaches and lecture at other business schools, including some rated in the top 3 in the world. He is a Certified Executive Coach, a member of Social Venture Circle, a founding member of the Bay Area Wellbeing in Business Lab, and a mentor for The Venture, a global social business competition awarding 1 million dollars every year. He is also the Founder and CEO of KumuThrive, a San Francisco Bay Area capacity-building firm, and of its nonprofit accelerator, Kumu.
Circular economy is one of his areas of focus. In the field of plastic pollution he has founded several organizations including Plastic Pollution Coalition, El Plástico Mata, Le Plastique Tue, the movie Albatross, and SUPER, a nonprofit helping businesses eliminate single-use plastics though footprinting technology and a tiered certification program.
