Janett brings 15 years of experience in Higher Education, including serving in the areas of academic affairs, enrollment, financial aid, student services, finance, and campus operations.
For over a decade at the Art Institute in San Francisco, Janett was the Director of Financial Aid and later served on the Executive team as Director of Finance. In both positions, she developed collaborative teams that worked alongside of all other departments, including the offices of the Registrar and Academic Affairs. In her most recent position, she served as Director of Operations and Compliance for Cinta Aveda Institute. Janett is passionate about the student experience, which inspires her commitment to a systems and analytical approach to help support successful academic learning and student formation.

Janett and her husband are the parents of 5 kids and 2 dogs. As an expression of her passion to ensure that all kids have an equal opportunity for higher learning and sports, she and her husband direct the Bay Area Lunaticz AAU Basketball Club. Along with their coaches they seek to serve kids from all ages, races, and genders in having an opportunity to grow and learn on and off the court. Ensuring that their education always came first before stepping on to the court she says, “Basketball is an outlet for these kids. Some are in survival mode, they just need to feel that they belong and be given an opportunity to be heard, mentored, and loved!” The first group of 9 kids to go through their program all went off to colleges throughout the Bay Area.
