Join us for this CLGS Lavender Lunch with Rev. Dr. Roland Stringfellow, who will share with us the work of The Michigan LGBTQ+ Elders Network (MiGen), the state’s only community-based organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ adults aged 45+ and those who love and care for them.
MiGen champions the right to Age Out Loud, believing that every LGBTQ+ person deserves to live authentically at any age, with access to safe spaces, essential support, and meaningful social connections. Through direct programs and services, the Network supports LGBTQ+ older adults and their caregivers in housing, healthcare, food, and benefits, while also offering training and education to organizations that serve aging adults to help make aging spaces more culturally competent and inclusive. MiGen is a trusted leader in LGBTQ+ aging, ensuring no one faces the challenges of aging alone.
At the heart of MiGen are shared values of authenticity, mutual well-being, and belonging. These principles guide this work, both internally and externally, ensuring LGBTQ+ older adults are supported, respected, and able to age with dignity.
