Denise Demetriou is Professor and Gerry and Jeannie Ranglas Chair in Ancient Greek History at the University of California in San Diego. She is author of Phoenicians among Others: Why Migrants Mattered in the Ancient Mediterranean (Oxford 2023), and Negotiating Identity in the Ancient Mediterranean (Cambridge 2012). At UC San Diego she also serves as the Director of the Center for Hellenic Studies.
