“May I live like the lotus at ease in the muddy water.” – Unknown
Introducing Lotuspace: A Virtual Queer & Questioning AAPI Spiritual Community Gathering Space, an offering from the CLGS Asian American Pacific Islander Roundtable (AAPIRT)!
The intention of Lotuspace is to create an intimate, virtual community gathering space where Queer and Questioning AAPI diasporic folks from various faith traditions, religious backgrounds, and spiritual identities can connect with one another in meaningful and intentional ways.
Each gathering space is lightly curated with:
- Opening community agreements to maintain the integrity and safety of the space
- A grounding ritual and/or somatic healing practice to care for the Queer/Questioning AAPI spirit & body
- Creatively crafted reflection questions to stimulate transformative participant dialogue and engagement
Important notes about Lotuspace:
- Registration is required and only open to Queer & Questioning AAPI folks (registration details TBA soon!)
- While the umbrella term “Asian American and Pacific Islander” (AAPI) generally includes “all people of Asian, Asian American or Pacific Islander ancestry, who trace their origins to the countries, states, jurisdictions and/or the diasporic communities of these geographic regions”– it is a limited term that attempts to encompass an incredibly vast and complex diasporic community that holds many nuances and subsets of identity and culture. Click here to learn more about the AAPIRT’s framework and understanding of AAPI identity.
- This space will be recorded and the recording will be added to the AAPIRT’s sacred archive collection. This recording will not be available for viewership to the public to maintain the privacy and dignity of all of our participants.
