“It is no accident, Ma, that the comma resembles a fetus— that curve of continuation. We were all once inside our mothers, saying with our entire curved and silenced selves, more, more, more. I want to insist that our being alive is beautiful enough to be worthy of replication. And so what? So what if all I ever made of my life was more of it?” – Ocean Vuong, On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous

In My Grandmother’s Tongue is a panel discussion that honors and elicits the sacred experiences and wisdom of our Queer AAPI Elders.
During this dialogue, we will unpack the significance of eldership in Queer AAPI communities, rites of passage/initiations into elderhood, and what it means to care for our Queer AAPI elders.
There will be a facilitated panel discussion during the first 45 mins of the program, with space for an audience Q&A in the last 15 mins.
