A CLGS Queering the 2024 Vote* Workshop Series

As the nation prepares to head to the polls in November, how do we discuss the important political issues that impact our communities?

In this CLGS Queering the 2024 Vote workshop we will explore the upcoming presidential election, discuss what can and cannot be said in our faith communities, and examine the unique spiritual care needs that LGBTQ+ congregants are facing as the election approaches.

Jakob Hero ShawRev. Jakob Hero-Shaw (he/him) is the coordinator of the Transgender Roundtable at the Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies (CLGS) and a faculty member of the Trans Seminarian Leadership Cohort.

He is the Senior Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of Tampa. Jakob received his Master of Divinity degree and Certificate in Sexuality and Religion from Pacific School of Religion and his Master of Arts in Ethics and Social Theory from The Graduate Theological Union.

Jakob’s greatest joy is raising two amazing kids, Mima and Ruben, with his husband, Allan.
