Join PSR’s Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies in Religion (CLGS) for this interactive webinar for chaplains, CPE students, and anyone with an interest in providing quality care to transgender and nonbinary people in healthcare settings. The host, Rev. Jakob Hero Shaw will explore the added stressors that trans people face in healthcare settings, and how the chaplain encounter can be transformative for trans patients and the care teams providing treatment.

Rev. Jakob Hero-Shaw is the Senior Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of Tampa. He is the coordinator of the Transgender Roundtable at the Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies and a faculty member of the Trans Seminarian Leadership Cohort. Jakob previously worked as a chaplain, in a large level-one trauma center, primarily focusing on palliative care. He lives in Tampa, Florida, with his husband, Allan, and their two kids.
