Mi Casa Es Tu Casa: Queer Latinx Reflections on the Family with MT Dávila and Natalia Imperatori-Lee | A CLGS Latinx Roundtable Event

This CLGS Latinx Roundtable Event will explore the concept of familia through a queer Latinx lens. Our panelists will reflect on the many ways “familia” is constructed and deployed in Latinx cultures and will apply a queer reading of familial relationality (including biological families and “chosen” families) to better understand, celebrate, and expand the scope of family in our contemporary diverse society. Such a project has significant implication for how we welcome all persons, especially queer POC, into relationship.

As Christians, civic engagement is how we live out the commandment to love our neighbor (Mark 12:30-31), and “speak up” for those in need (Proverbs 31:8-9).
