Join us for an exciting program of public events in 2021-2022 that draw on themes of the Badè Museum’s new virtual exhibition: “Unsilencing the Archives: Laborers at the Tell en-Nasbeh Excavations (1926-1935).” Click here to view the exhibition opening held on September 22, 2021 to learn more about the exhibit.
The Badè Museum, in partnership with the Palestine Exploration Fund (London, U.K.) and Archaeological Research Facility (ARF) at UC Berkeley, presents a new monthly virtual lecture series titled “Unsilencing the Archives.” The program showcases new research that decolonizes museum archives, with a focus on archival records from excavations carried out in British Mandate Palestine.
The first talk of the 2021-2022 lecture series will stream live on November 4, 2021 at 9:00am Pacific. Dr. Sarah Irving (Staffordshire University) will present “Guarding Archaeology: Everyday Labour in the British Mandate Department of Antiquities.”
