The Office of Community Life (OCL) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Student Assistant (OSA) to join our team!
This is a great opportunity for students who want to gain hands-on experience in higher education administration while contributing to a vibrant and inclusive campus community. This position offers the opportunity to support both the Director of Community Life and the Office of Academic Affairs with a range of administrative and organizational projects that directly impact student life and academic success.

Essential Functions
- Work with the Director of Community Life and Hybrid OCL student worker to sort, organize and archive OCL files and materials and to create Standard Operating Procedure manuals for the department.
- Serve as staff to the Community Life Council (CLC) in scheduling monthly meetings, keeping and updating CLC notes and plans, and executing CLC-led activities (particularly on-campus activities)
- Update the OCL Wellness Resource Guide for incoming and continuing students in preparation for our Fall Orientation and beyond.
- Assist in coordinating volunteer student support of Annual Commencement activities and ceremony.
- Assist the Associate Dean & Registrar in the OAA Transcript Project (digitally archiving student transcripts)
Require Job Qualifications
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability and willingness to take the initiative and work independently and interdependently as a collaborative team member
- Ability to work flexibly in an in-person and virtual team environment
- Ability to move up to 20 – 25 pounds as may be required to organize and archive OCL materials
- Commitment to racial, gender, sexual orientation, ability and economic justice and capacity to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse community
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational, communication, writing and editing skills
- Proficiency with personal computers and technology, especially MS Office Suite, online resources, and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in administrative and organizational support
- Prior experience in community resource research and compilation

- Manual Dexterity – Ability to use computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- Sitting – Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer and in meetings.
- Lifting/Pushing/Pulling – Occasional lifting to 25 pounds. Ability to push/pull file drawers and transport files and materials for archiving.
