What We Do

The Student Accessibility Services Office (ASO) within the Office of Community Life (OCL) at PSR offers a variety of accommodations and services to students with documented disabilities, permanent and temporary injuries, and chronic conditions. If you are a student with a disability, we engage you in an interactive process to provide you an equal opportunity to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from our academic programs. To create a community, which is truly accessible and inclusive of all persons, including people with disabilities requires the participation of each member of the PSR community.

Get Started

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works with all PSR students. Registering with Student Accessibility Services is a required first step for students who wish to request a disability-related accommodation or service.

Register Now

To request accommodations, students must register with SAS, which involves:

  • Complete the Accommodations Request Form.
  • Provide supporting documentation (see Documentation Guidelines).
  • Meet with an SAS staff member to discuss your request and current situation, and to develop a plan for moving forward.

All medical documentation and requests for accommodations will remain confidential. Confidential information is shared only with those who have a legitimate need to know. Student Accessibility Services (SAS) may share some information with instructors and staff as necessary to coordinate student accommodations.

Students who are unsure about their eligibility for assistance should complete the Request form and meet with SAS staff to discuss their situation.

Who is a Student with a Disability?

Generally, a student with a disability is one who has an impairment or condition which substantially limits a major life activity such as caring for one’s self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, and working. An impairment substantially limits a major life activity when the individual’s major life activity is restricted as to the conditions, manner, or duration under which the activity can be performed in comparison to most people. Such an impairment can be a chronic or temporary condition.

Already Registered?

To renew accommodations, students must be registered.

If you are already registered, you need to submit your Accommodation Permission for Faculty Notification EACH semester. Please submit this form no later than the end of the first week of the semester.

Please note: Unless this form is submitted, faculty will not be notified, and accommodations cannot be made.

For further PSR-specific questions related to accommodations, contact the Student Accessibility Services Office.
