Pacific School of Religion (PSR), a progressive, ecumenical seminary in the heart of Berkeley, is seeking a spiritually grounded and administratively gifted United Methodist leader to serve in a dual role supporting student formation and coordinating UMC student engagement.
This position plays a vital role in accompanying students in connecting their academic preparation with their callings to ministry and justice focused work—including those pursuing ordination in The United Methodist Church—through spiritual formation, vocational discernment, denominational connection, and leadership development.
Working closely with the Office of Community Life, Office of Academic Affairs and the academic program, the Associate also contributes to creating a thriving hybrid community at PSR by supporting planning for chapel, events, and co-curricular programming.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is rooted in UMC connection and has experience in spiritual direction, ministry, or chaplaincy
- Understands the UMC ordination process and can walk alongside students in formation
- Brings strong relational and administrative skills to a collaborative, hybrid environment
- Is passionate about building Beloved Community among a diverse and experienced student body
This is a meaningful opportunity to invest in the next generation of spiritually rooted leaders and help strengthen the ties between PSR and the wider UMC connection.
