PSR Alum Mary Kate Becker Named Associate Director for Mission Integration at Mercy Education

We are thrilled to celebrate and congratulate PSR alum Mary Kate Becker on her appointment as Associate Director for Mission Integration at Mercy Education, beginning July 2025.

Mary Kate’s vocation is rooted in a lifelong commitment to justice, ministry, and transformation. Her journey began in her home parish in Indianapolis and has flourished through youth ministry, campus leadership, and now national-level mission integration. Her time at PSR was a pivotal chapter, one where her calling matured, her theology evolved, and her voice as a Catholic woman in ministry was profoundly affirmed.

Reflecting on her time at PSR, Mary Kate shares:

“I found my prophetic voice at PSR as a Catholic woman in leadership. It was in our Preaching course in my MDiv program where for the first time I had my peers take me seriously as a preacher.”

Her academic path is a testament to the strength of PSR’s unique stackable curriculum. She graduated with a Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Social Transformation, and a Certificate in Spirituality and Social Change, credentials that have not only equipped her theologically but also expanded her vocational possibilities.

“I have a seat at the table where people trust my perspective and insights,” Mary Kate reflects. “PSR helped me deconstruct and reconstruct my theology, giving me clarity, confidence, and community.”

At Mercy Education, Mary Kate will be tasked with deepening the Mercy Catholic mission across its institutions, grounded in the charism of the Sisters of Mercy. This new role allows her to draw from her rich theological formation, ministerial experience, and the inclusive, justice-oriented spirituality she cultivated at PSR.

We are deeply proud of Mary Kate and look forward to seeing the impact she will continue to make in this sacred work.

UNAFRAID SINCE 1866, PSR continues to stand behind alumni like Mary Kate who embody courageous, transformative ministry in a world that urgently needs it.
