OCL LOCAL STUDENT ASSISTANT
(8 – 10 hours per week; $16.99/hour)
This position provides general administrative and programmatic support for the Office of Community Life. The Local Student Assistant will also serve as the Local Student Engagement Coordinator in collaboration with the Remote Student Engagement Coordinator and Community Life Council. This position reports to the Director of Community Life and Spiritual Care, who will prioritize assignments.
Assignments include collaboration with the Remote Student Assistant, assisting with coordination of logistical details for various events, generating periodic mailings, responding to requests for information, assisting with coordination of the OCL & Community Life Council calendar of events (including weekly in-person or virtual study hall gatherings), maintaining and updating residential/local student contact lists and, working to engage a broader range of local student voices and gifts into the life of PSR’s hybrid community.
The LSA will also assist in coordinating setup and documentation of the Community Life Council and student group gatherings in-person or via Zoom, maintaining and updating department handbooks and manuals, a Community Wellness Guide, and generating community notices as needed in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Academic Programming and other OCL staff as designated. Position includes some physical requirements (stair climbing, light lifting, and movement of office materials).
This position REQUIRES IN-PERSON availability. Ability to drive and current driver’s license are preferable (must be able to use one’s own vehicle or have access to transportation). Proof of vaccination is required. Periodic weekend and evening hours may be required (particularly during Commencement season) Students eligible for Federal Work Study are strongly encouraged to apply.
