Murry has more than 30 years of higher education leadership experience in admissions, enrollment management, marketing, public relations and communications. He also brings a deep commitment to PSR’s mission—professionally, having served in a number of faith based educational institutions over the years, as well as personally out of his active engagement with his progressive United Methodist congregation in Atlanta.
Murry’s most recent position was at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, where he served as Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations for 8 years. He provided oversight on the Doha campus in the areas of strategic marketing and branding, graphic design, special events, alumni relations, social media and content management. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon, he served as Higher Education Manager with The College Board—providing consultation and support to colleges and universities primarily in the areas of admissions, marketing, and enrollment strategy. Additionally, Murry has served at Geneva College (PA), Simpson University (CA), and Toccoa Falls College (GA). Coming to the Bay Area is a return to California for Murry, who served Director of Market Development and Distribution for Camfel Productions, an educational film company in the Los Angeles area.
As a consultant, Murry has provided enrollment management, admissions and marketing expertise to a variety of institutions throughout the United States and internationally. He has been a speaker at various local, regional and national conferences on topics such as: The Impact of the Internet in College/University Marketing, Strategic Leadership in Higher Education Marketing, Creating a Motivational Environment, Understanding Behavioral Styles, and Hiring/Building an Effective Team.
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Surrey in Guildford, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science degree from Toccoa Falls College.
