Virtual Resources

The Badè Museum continues the work of William Badè and the former Badè Institute of Biblical Archaeology by engaging in on-going research with the permanent Tell en-Nasbeh collection. Much ongoing research of specific artifacts and object types from the collection is done by museum staff and visiting scholars. This work has led to numerous publications, exhibits, lectures on the collection. Select publications, including those of the Director and original excavation reports, can be see here.

Online Exhibits and Teaching Resources

The museum offers a variety of new online exhibits and teaching resources.

Virtual Programming

Visit the museum’s Current Events page and Youtube channel for upcoming online public programming and its catalogue of archived videos.

Searching the Collection

The Badè Museum works with Open Context to provide data and archives to the public. Here you can view some of the objects from the Tell en-Nasbeh excavations as well as from projects and excavations all over the world. Our digitization project is ongoing.

Visiting the Collection

The Badè Museum is proud to host visiting researchers wishing to conduct original research on the collections, subject to the Director’s approval. Please see our visiting researcher page for more information on scheduling a visit.

Archives

The Tell en-Nasbeh collection incorporates some of the excavated archaeological material as well as archival documentation from the Tell en-Nasbeh excavations, including excavation records, field photographs, correspondence, films, and original object photography. Some of this material is available online through Open Context or through a visiting researcher appointment.

Traveling Exhibit

The Museum circulates a loan exhibit of objects for use in teaching. The traveling exhibit includes artifacts and replicas from the original Tell en-Nasbeh excavations such as lamps, oil juglets, sling stones, and ceramic pitchers. Along with labels and display posters, an informative and entertaining DVD accompanies every exhibit describing excavation techniques and what we can learn from archaeological remains. For more information about the contents of the Traveling Exhibit and pricing please see our traveling exhibits page.

To request the Traveling Exhibit please email bade@psr.edu or call (510) 849-8286.
