Tuesday Chapel: World Communion Day and Feast of St. Francis of Assisi
We will celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi outside the PSR Chapel in the sacred grove across from the chapel entrance. We will have some seats available on the adjacent sidewalk. We will also anticipate World Communion Day, with a Feast for everyone present.
Join us in the Spirit of Saint Francis who heard the voice of Christ speak to him from a crucifix at San Damiano, encouraging him to "Build My House"- which Francis first thought meant to renovate the church crumbling church edifice, but which grew to understand meant the Christian Church. Enjoy a dramatic presentation by Shannon Gorres and Sarah McCune based on "The Blessing of the Beasts" by Eleanor Pochocki and illustrated by Barry Moser.
And bring your pet, animal companion, or pictures or mementos of them, living or in that place where John Wesley believed we would be reunited. The service will last about a half hour- with plenty of time for each animal to receive a personal blessing. If you email a photograph by Monday NOON to firstname.lastname@example.org we will make laminated copies to adorn the altar space, or you may bring them and remove them after the service. We will have Saint Francis medals to distribute for you or your animal friend. Our offering will be received for Pax Christi (www.paxchristiusa.org), a Catholic peacemaking organization.
Join us every Tuesday, when school is in session, for our weekly chapel service.
To to held in The Chapel of the Great Commission at PSR.
