John Shelby Spong to receive award, give public lecture on eternal life

The Right Reverend John Shelby Spong, retired bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, and his wife Chrstine Spong, will receive the CLGS Leading Voice Award at a reception in Easton Hall (across the street from the PSR campus at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific). Bishop Spong and Christine have traveled the world as advocates for a more just and inclusive Christiany which includes LGBT people. The reception is at 5:30 PM and a $30 donation is suggested.

At 7 PM, Bishop Spong will give a free lecture as a part of PSR's Summer Session Tueday Night Talks, based on his book, Eternal Life: a New Vision Beyond Religion, Beyond Theism, Beyond Heaven and Hell. The lecture will be held on PSR's campus at 1798 Scenic Avenue in Berkeley.
