PSR group co-hosts conference on religion and disability

March 12, 2010 at 8:30am to 4:00pm

The Differently Abled Student Union (DASU), a student group at PSR, is co-hosting a conference on religion and disability. "A Ramp Is Not Enough," also sponsored by the Graduate Theological Union in the GTU library, is a public event held to advance exemplary ministry, awareness and accomodation for all people. Sessions throughout the day will address theological and institutional accessibility. The keynote address, "There but for the Grace of God: Biblical and Theological Reflections on Issues of Disability," will be given by Kathleen Black, the Gerald Kennedy Chair of Homiletics and Liturgies from Claremont School of Theology. An afternoon panel discussion will feature local clergy who have had success in increasing accomodation at church services and community events.
