Faith, Food, and Animals: Film screening and panel discussion
PSR's student group TREES (Theological Roundtable on Ecological Ethics and Spirituality) is co-hosting a documentary screening, to be followed by a panel discussion (February 25, 7pm, PSR Chapel). The free event, "Faith, Food and Animals: Factory Farming and Christian Responses," will highlight the film "Eating Mercifully." The Humane Society of the
Faculty and experts on ecology, animal rights, and religion will explore the film's implications and applications to everyday life. Panelists include:
-Rosemary Radford Ruether, faculty emeritus of PSR and GTU and professor of feminist theology
-Christine Gutleben, director of faith outreach on animals and religion at the HSUS
-Richard Norgaard, professor of
-Laura Hobgood-Oster, professor of religion and environmental studies at Southwestern University
