CLGS 10th Anniversary Celebration

PSR’s Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry (CLGS), established in 2000 as the first LGBT center at an American seminary, kicks off a yearlong tenth anniversary celebration the week of September 19. See highlights below; also see individual Public Event listings and clgs.org.

CLGS Coalition for Welcoming Congregations Worship Service
Date and time: Tuesday, September 21, 7:00 pm
Place: PSR chapel, 1798 Scenic Avenue, Berkeley          
The Coalition of Welcoming Congregations will host a worship service on campus, highlighting the multiple faith traditions and communities CWC represents. Carol Lynn Pearson, author of Proposition Healing: Building Understanding for Mormons and Gay People  will be the speaker.

Peterson Toscano performs “Transfigurations”
Date and time: Friday, September 24, 7:00 pm
Place: PSR chapel, 1798 Scenic Avenue, Berkeley
Peterson Toscano performs from Transfigurations, his one-person play unearthing transgender Bible characters, “those who do not fit in the gender binary, and who are transgressing and transcending gender.”
