Katherine Kunz
Katherine Kunz graduated in 2007 with an MA in Art and Religion through the GTU Common MA program, offered jointly by PSR and the GTU. Katherine, pictured with her medal for swimming from Alcatraz to San Francisco, is currently serving as director of advancement and alumni/ae relations in PSR’s Office for Institutional Advancement.
Katherine grew up in a military family and frequently moved throughout her childhood, feeling either “in” or “out” of the changing communities. “PSR helped me to experience community in many different in-between spaces,” she says. “I lived in Benton Hall both years and was the building manager my second year. Some of my fondest memories are of the community in that place.”
Kunz says that she learned three valuable things at PSR: “patience, perseverance, and creativity—and the surprising places these things will take you.” She recently published her first article, a photo-essay titled “Benedictine Spirituality and the Land,” in the OCHRE Journal of Women's Spirituality.
