"The exclusion of same-sex couples from the civil contract of marriage amounts to an endorsement by the state of just one religious view . . . at the expense of others," summed up Pacific School of Religion professor William McKinney.

President Ralph J. Hexter and his partner of more than 27 years, Manfred Kollmeier - announced their marriage over Labor Day Weekend. Hexter is is a PSR trustee and is president of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, where gay marriage is legal.
