Younger Alumni/ae Invited to the First Parish Project
The Hinton Rural Life Center in western North Carolina invites young alumni/ae to apply for the First Parish Project (FPP) supported by the Lilly Endowment.
The First Parish Project is a program that provides ongoing peer support to seminary graduates in a learning community. It is open to clergy who are 35 and under and are serving their first parish as pastors in a smaller membership church (approx. 100 in worship attendance). This unique gathering for young pastors is both ecumenical and national.
The Hinton Center, a mission agency of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church, is privileged to be in partnership with Lilly, and is honored to share in the journey of ministry with young clergy. Over the years, this program has positively impacted many young clergy in their early years of pastoral ministry.
The program is currently forming their next group, which will meet for the first time in November. Applications are being received on a rolling basis. For more information and to apply, go here.
