PSR hires consultant for API faculty, religious leaders
President Bill McKinney and Dean Mary Ann Tolbert have announced that PSR has hired a consultant to help the seminary explore how it can best serve the Asian Pacific Islander faculty and religious leaders, after PANA (the Institute for Leadership Development and Study of Pacific and Asian North American Religion) founded in 2000, was put on hiatus last summer.
The consultant is Rita Nakashima Brock, PhD, director of Faith Voices for the Common Good, in Oakland; a visiting professor at Starr King School for the Ministry at the Graduate Theological Union; and the first Asian American woman to earn a PhD in theology.
Brock says she is interviewing a wide variety of people associated with PANA, as well as other API scholars, clergy, and seminarians. Those wishing to contact her in this endeavor may e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Her final report to PSR is due July 1.
