Prayers for Japan

March 14, 2011

We offer our ongoing prayers for our sisters and brothers in Japan as they face the consequences of last week’s catastrophic earthquake, tsunami, and radiation exposure. PSR and many of its faculty, staff, and alumni/ae have family and friends throughout Japan. For them, and for those we have never met, but with whom we share a common humanity, we invite the wider PSR community to find ways to support the citizens of Japan in this time of trial and suffering.

Please consider donating to one of the many agencies collecting funds to help victims, such as the United Church of Christ Wider Church Ministries or the United Methodist Committee on Relief. In chapel tomorrow there will be a special prayer for the people of Japan, for those who have died and those who are suffering, prayers for the environment, and prayers for prudence in our use of nuclear energy. There will also be a special offering in chapel on March 29. For those who would like a listening ear at any time, remember that the Pastoral Care team is available to hear your concerns.
