Director named for Community and Continuing Education

September 3, 2009

Laurie Isenberg has been named the first director of Community and Continuing Education at PSR. No stranger to Holy Hill, Isenberg has previously helped shape online education programs at two other GTU seminaries: Starr King School for the Ministry and Church Divinity School of the Pacific.

PSR has initiated several online education efforts since announcing a continuing education program in 2006, but the naming of a director officially launches the new program.

“We will be able to make available things that are already happening on our campus to wider audiences, and also create new resources to serve those who are not able to be physically present,” says President Bill McKinney. “Having a person in charge of community and continuing education will also help strengthen relationships between PSR and the churches and faith communities that we serve.”

A graduate of Cornell University, Isenberg received a master of information and library studies degree from the University of Michigan, and a master of arts in the humanities from Dominican University of California. In 2008-2009, she chaired the GTU’s online and distance learning task force.

Isenberg begins work at PSR on September 8, 2009.
