CALIFORNIA AS CONTEXT: new and returning students explore California in Oakland.

July 31, 2013

During the Fall 2013 Orientation, PSR will offer a special local immersion led by Professors Devin Zuber and Odette Lockwood-Stewart on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Participants will spend the afternoon at Oakland Museum of California. Once there, the students will form Art, History, and Science exploratory teams.  The participants will then meet with community leaders from diverse constituencies who will engage in a conversation regarding the students' findings and their knowledge of  the community. After leaving the museum, everyone will walk to Chinatown for dinner.

Museum admission and dinner for new students will be hosted by Contextual Learning and PSR Orientation.  Other students and community members are welcomed and will receive discount rates for admission.

Check back for registration details and deadlines.
