Stuart Hall for Boys, a Catholic and Independent school in San Francisco, is seeking to hire a full time Religion teacher for Grades 5-8. Stuart Hall for Boys belongs to the Schools of the Sacred Heart network, which includes 22 schools throughout the United States and schools in over 40 countries worldwide. Sacred Heart schools are bound by a mission to educate children with academic rigor, social consciousness and Christian values. Stuart Hall for Boys is part of a four-school complex in San Francisco, which consists of two single-sex elementary schools and two single-sex high schools.

Position Description:

• Full Time Position for Grades 5-8.
• The Religion teacher works under the guidance of the Middle Form Dean and the SHB/CES Campus Minister.
• Curriculum includes: Introduction to the Sacraments; Old Testament & New Testament Studies, Exploring World Religions, and Church History.
• Employment begins August 2013.
Qualifications:
• B.A. required (M.A. preferred).
• Relevant middle school classroom teaching experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Innovative, creative, and flexible teaching style.
• Knowledge of how boys learn.
• A passion for teaching religion and spirituality.
• A practicing Catholic with experience in leading student worship services.
• Desire to actively support the Sacred Heart Goals & Criteria.
