San Francisco Night Ministry

The San Francisco Night Ministry began as a pilot project under the Department of Pastoral Services of the San Francisco Council of Churches in 1962. It was fully organized in 1964 and became an independent not-for-profit organization with its own governing board, charter constitution and mission statement in 1990.

Night Ministry provides pastoral care, counseling referrals, and crisis intervention every night of the year 10pm-4am through a crisis telephone line, night ministers on the streets, two outdoor worship services and several other programs. Seminarians will be included in all aspects of our ministry.
