California Interfaith Power and Light
California Interfaith Power and Light (CIPL) is a statewide organization mobilizing the religious community to become leaders in the fight to halt global warming. CIPL has become one of the nation's largest and most influential religious environmental organizations with 560 congregations across the state taking pro-active steps through energy conservation, renewable energy programs, education and outreach, and public policy advocacy. This is an opportunity to join a unique and dynamic organization. The position of Intern is unpaid, but there is great opportunity to learn and to build invaluable experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Program Director in developing member materials and seasonal mailers
- Work to help grow the social media presence of CIPL and update webpage
- Support Director in his efforts to recruit congregations of all major faith traditions
- Help provide basic constituent services to member houses of worship
- Assist with research on environmental issues and constituent groups
- Answer phones, work on mailings, run general office errands
Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. in-progress; graduate-level or seminary students preferred
Good communication skills important
Ability to organize
General knowledge of global warming helpful
Basic familiarity with Mac OS
