Artist-Theologian in Residence, Arlington Community Church UCC
Arlington Community Church UCC is seeking a GTU student with skills in visual and/or performing arts to assist us in our goals of being a center for creativity and spiritual arts. Help us think theologically about creative arts, as you assist our creatively gifted Musical Director and Director of Spirituality and Arts Education with our weekly children’s arts program, Spirit and the Arts.
We will look to you to guide us in jump-starting our long-range plan of renovation and aesthetic improvements of our site with a year-long, visual art project on an outside retaining wall. This project is intended to involve the 4 main building users (the Sunday congregation, the Wednesday Spirit and the Arts families, and 2 Nursery Schools). Depending on your gifts, there are also opportunities for worship leadership, or creating visual displays or banners for our worship setting.
We encourage you to use this year as a laboratory to integrate creative arts and theology, while working with a staff of skilled creative people, and a very appreciative congregation. Although not a Minister-in-Training internship, this 10-15 hour/wk position that pays $500/mo, will give you fantastic experience for your future ministry!
Please contact Rev. Tony Clark for an interview.
