Profile: 

Dr. Mendiola focuses his scholarly research, writing and teaching on the field of ethics. He is especially interested in bioethics and sexual ethics, with particular reference to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. His research and writing have dealt with such issues as aid-in-dying, queer theory, bioethics and ethical epistemology. His recent projects include a book on the nature of human suffering and moral reflection, and an introductory book on Christian ethics (in progress). In the wider community, he pursues his interest in ethics and human health, participating in health-care related committees and projects. He is Roman Catholic.
