Job Description: 

The Communications Assistant works closely with the Graphic Design/Communications Manager to create and maintain communications properties for Pacific School of Religion.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Write, edit, and maintain content for PSR website, email newsletters, and social media
• Proactively seek out news and events on campus, and in the wider PSR/Holy Hill
community
• Interview PSR community members for original website and e-news articles
• Assist in creating and updating email campaigns via Mailchimp
• Maintain email lists, and ensure their accuracy in Raiser’s Edge database
• Edit images and templates
• Help develop and support the creation and compliance of PSR
marketing/communications policies and strategies
• Other tasks as needed by the Marketing & Communications department

Details: 

Hours per week: 10
Date job is to begin: immediately, available through summer
Hourly rate: $15
Preferred work days: flexible

Prerequisite Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Some knowledge of Photoshop & MS Office
• Ability to work effectively as part of a closely collaborative team, and with tight
deadlines
• Excellent customer service skills
• Friendly
• Good research skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A self-starter who is able to take initiative on projects and daily tasks
Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge of Wordpress , Drupal, and/or other content management systems useful, but
not required
• Background in journalism or communications a major plus
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
• Some experience with database management useful
• Photography and/or design skills a major plus
