PSR Alumni/ae & Friends Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
Journey to the Holy Land and Jordan with PSR alumni/ae and friends, January 6-15, 2013
This trip is both an adventure and an educational experience. Offered through the Society for Biblical Studies, we'll strike a balance between the Holy Land's historic-biblical significance and its current social context. We will walk the streets where Jesus walked and also experience the lives of Palestinians and Israelis who live in the Holy Land today.
CEUs (3.0 continuing education units) are available for pastors and other professionals. Because this is not an academic class, academic credit is not granted. A draft of the trip syllabus is available here.
Our trip will be led by a faculty member of the Society for Biblical Studies. Co-coordinators and fellow travelers are PSR alumna, Rev. Allison K. Mark and PSR Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations, Katherine Kunz.
The dates are carefully chosen to bring us to the Holy Land during low season for tourists and the beginning of the Lenten Season. We'll bring you home in time for the 2013 Earl Lectures in Berkeley.
Words of Encouragement
"Words can barely express how I felt as I experienced the people, the land, and its stories - which is why I believe it is important for others to experience the Holy Land on their own...you and your ministry will be changed by it." -Allison K. Mark
