Dining
D'Autremont Dining Hall at PSR serves three meals each weekday (except during winter break, January intersession, spring break, and the summer) for dorm residents. The dining hall — which is open to the public — draws together dorm residents, apartment residents, commuters, as well as students from other GTU schools, providing a focal point for conversation and socializing for the entire PSR community. At Table: New Initiatives in Dining Services — Fall 2007
PSR's Dining Services has introduced several new initiatives this fall, including:
- Worked with national humane society office to identify local purveyors and switch to cage-free eggs
- Expanded use of locally sourced seasonal produce — including fruits, vegetables, and fresh herbs — from the Bay Area and Central Valley
- Expanded list of organic products, including fruits, milk, grains and cereals, and all cooking flours
- Switched to only trans-fat-free cooking oils
- Participated in our first inspection by the Berkeley Health Dept. and made improvements at their suggestion
These initiatives are part of an ongoing effort to use sustainable foods, products, and services. For more information, see the new bulletin boards in the dining hall, which are designed to keep the community informed about innovations in Dining Services.
