New Fall 2013 Course: Christ & Culture: Developing a Theology of Social Transformation
Professor Jay Emerson Johnson will be teaching a new course this fall called Christ & Culture: Developing a Theology of Social Transformation where you can join other students, clergy, & lay leaders in exploring and creating a theology for social transformation.
Experience first-hand how change happens by visiting Bay Area organizations, like these:
Youth Uprising, a community center in East Oakland that provides leadership training for youth & young adults, and improves the systems that impact them;
Rainbow Community Center, the only organization in Contra Costa County that builds community & services for LGBT youth, seniors, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS;
Haas Center for Non-Profit and Public Leadership, a specialty business school at Stanford that inspires leaders to achieve social impact across sectors
Through these learning journeys, a collaborative online journal, and 5 discussion sessions, noted scholar and author Rev. Dr. Johnson will help participants gain the ability to apply thier own theological analysis to social problems, and become a leader for a bold, new world.
