Unitarian Universalist Church of the Monterey Peninsula - Full Time Internship

Full-time internship with focus on Parish Ministry from August 15, 2009 to June 15, 2010. Compensation is $1600. per month.

Under the supervision of the minister, the intern will participate in a variety of experiences tailored to the intern's individual needs, including small group leadership, institutional management, programming and finance,pastoral care, counseling, worship arts, adult and children's religious education, program development, and community and social action.

This congregation has a deep commitment to social justice, emphasizes the Green Sanctuary movement, is addressing multicultural/anti-oppression curricula, and has a long history of hosting ministerial interns.

First Baptist Church, Pittsburg, CA - Administrative Assistant to the Pastor

POSITION PURPOSE:
To provide direct assistance to the Senior Pastor to carry out all Ministry functions
To provide overall leadership to special projects and programs.
To provide assistance to ministry leaders as work request are received

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
One to two years of college
Minimum of two (2) years as an administrator with project management experience
Knowledge of church operation and functions
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License
Knowledge of community faith-based programs desired
Licensed Minister preferred

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration:
Assist with the management and functions of First Baptist Church office and staff.
To provide support to staff and volunteers as directed by the Senior Pastor.
Assist in the coordination of special programs of First Baptist Church and its outreach operations.
Serves as Assistant to Senior Pastor in programming, planning and development in conjunction with the vision of First Baptist Church.
Work with boards/committees to ensure support and delivery of services to specified ministry.
To manage fiscal reporting of grants to funders’ fiscal department and/or Senior Pastor.
Supports Youth & Young Adult Ministry work as requested by Senior Pastor.

Outreach:
Assist Community Workers in on-going development of community relationships.
To identify or develop potential grant opportunities through grant writing and/or procurement.
Ensure monthly fiscal reports to funding entities are completed by established deadlines.
Attend community meetings as designated by the Senior Pastor.
Serves as a team member of First Baptist Church Academic Center for Excellence in relation to programs developed.
Assist in the recruitment of volunteers for First Baptist Church Academic Center for Excellence.
Supports Youth & Young Adult Ministry work as requested by Senior Pastor.
Other duties as directed by the Senior Pastor.
Occasional travel required.
Salary up to $2,000.00 per month depending on hrs.

Christ United Presbyterian Church - Youth Director

Seeking an individual who feels God's call to fill the position of part-time Youth Director. Primary responsibilities are to develop and implement year-round programming for middle school and high school youth that will deepen their understanding of the Christian faith and enable them to live faithfully in today's world.

Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists- Consulting Minister

For 51 years the Berkeley Fellowship has been widely recognized as a progressive spiritual community welcoming people of all races, classes, ages, sexual identities and religious beliefs. Presently, the ministry is shared between members of the congregation and a Professional Minister. Our current Consulting Minister will be leaving in June 2009.
Position: The person we are seeking would serve as half-time Consulting Minister for a 10 month period, Aug. 15, 2009 - June 15, 2010; 20 hours per week, reporting to the BFUU Board with support from the Ministerial Relations Committee.
Primary Role: Work with congregational leaders in promoting membership growth and community outreach, support of our long-term vision and organizational development, programming and leadership; UU education and small group ministry. Deliver sermons twice a month.
Salary: In $30,000 range: commensurate with experience.

Southeast Association of the Wisconsin Conference - Association Minister

The Southeast Association of the Wisconsin Conference is seeking an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ to serve as Association Minister. The Association Minister has pastoral oversight for congregations and pastors in the Association; works with churches in the search and call process; provides counsel and consult to local church leaders in a variety of situations, and administers the program of the Association. This person serves as a member of the staff of the Wisconsin Conference. We are seeking a minister with parish experience and maturity.

South Hayward United Methodist Church - Youth Worker Assistant

South Hayward United Methodist Church, located at 628 Shafer Road, Hayward, CA, seeks a youth worker to assist in the development of its growing youth ministry for youth ages 12 - 18. The multicultural congregation (primarily Filipino/White) is located in, and intends to provide ministries to, its broader Spanish speaking community. Music is a central component of the congregation as a whole, though the interests of the youth vary. We expect someone who is focused, mature, creative with a positive mindset, and with some understanding of and experience in the Christian faith to devote 10 - 15 hours weekly to this ministry in the form of communication, organizing, recruiting and developing leadership, and direct involvement in the formation and facilitation of ministry activities with youth.
Musical and/or Spanish speaking abilities are a plus.

Glencoe Union Church - Senior Minister

Glencoe Union is a non-denominational Christian church in a northern suburb of Chicago. Founded in 1872 as a Congregational Church which was “The Church in the Heart of the Village”, we have always welcomed people of all faiths and backgrounds to join in our worship. Upon its destruction by fire in 1910, the church was re-built and established as the Glencoe Union Church (GUC) in 1911.

Saint James Lutheran Church - Part-Time Choir Director

Part-time Choir Director. Approximately 8 - 10 hours /month at $20/hour. We are hoping for someone experienced in directing choirs who is comfortable with traditional hymnody, anthems and some contemporary songs. The position begins in fall 2008. Duties include: choosing musical selections that coincide with the liturgical theme, conducting weekly rehearsals, scheduling musical offerings one Sunday per month, coordinating themes/scheduling with the pastor and music director.
