Some Reflections on the Role of Social Research in the United Church of Christ
I served from 1975 to 1986 as research director for the United Church Board for Homeland Ministries. These were fascinating times in the history of Christian mission work in the United States. In the attached paper I take a look at the role of social research in American denominations with a focus on the United Church of Christ. This would be a great dissertation topic for a doctoral student with an interest in applied social research.
